Order Google Cloud Platform subscription

Specifics and limitations

  • Google Cloud Platform has only one period — the endless.
  • Changing resources of a Google Cloud Platform subscription is not available since all information about its resources is stored on the service side.
  • A subscription is free, and you only pay for the consumed resources (pay-as-you-go).
  • Subscriptions of an account are represented on the Google side as billing subaccounts under the parent billing account of the reseller, and they are linked to the customer "organization":

    • The organization is created together with the first subscription of an account in the platform.
    • The organization name is set as the primary name of the account in the platform.
  • When a subscription is created, you receive 2 messages:

    1. An invitation from Google with a link to access Google Cloud Console.
    2. The subscription activation instruction from your reseller (see also Activate Google Cloud Platform subscription).

Additional information

Ordering a Google Cloud Platform subscription includes one additional step.

On the Additional information step:

  1. In the Billing subaccount name field, enter the value that will be used in the customer billing account name as a part of the name template. Up to 36 characters.
  2. In the Admin email field, enter the email of a user to become the first administrator of the billing subaccount. You can add other administrators later after activating a subscription.
  3. In the Domain field, enter the domain name of the organization. Specify the domain name only for the first Google Cloud Platform subscription of an account. For subsequent Google Cloud Platform subscriptions, the same domain name is used automatically, and the Domain field is not displayed.
