Deleting a notification category

You can delete only notification categories created by a manager of the reseller. Inherited notification categories cannot be deleted.

Deleting a notification category causes deleting all notification templates included in it. Deleting notification templates causes deleting all event handlers created using these notification templates.

When the upstream reseller deletes a notification category, the delegated notification category is also deleted for all downstream resellers that did not edit it. In that case, the notification templates created by a manager, but included in the delegated notification category, are also deleted. A delegated notification category is not deleted in the following cases:

  • A notification category is edited (Customized = Yes).
  • A notification category is not changed, but includes at least one edited notification template (deleting Customized = Yes).
  • A notification category is not changed, but there is at least one edited event handler based on a notification template included in this notification category.

To delete a notification category:

  1. Go to Notification Categories (see Navigation). The list of notification categories is displayed (see Viewing the list of notification categories).
  2. Click the ID or name of the required notification category. The notification category details page is displayed (see Viewing and updating notification category's details).
  3. Click Delete and confirm the action.
