Managing account's permission to use the Postpay model

To reduce the possible risk of selling services within the Postpay model when a customer pays after factual using a service and prevent bulk ordering of trial subscriptions, a reseller can apply to the accounts manual approval by a manager of permission to use the Postpay model. By default, no approval is required, and an account does not need to have permission to order postpaid subscriptions.

If the manual mode of getting permission to order subscriptions withing the Postpay model is selected in the reseller settings (see Allow an account to order a postpaid subscription = Manually in Managing financial settings):

  • For an account attempted to order the first postpaid subscription (only commercial or trial, too — depending on the settings), the order will be created and provisioned only when a manager manually approves the account's permission to use the Postpay model.
  • Once getting manual approval from a manager, an account has permission to order any postpaid subscriptions without being verified one more time.
  • An account under review by a manager or refused by a manager cannot order postpaid subscriptions, including the first subscription. However, if permission is required for commercial subscriptions only, the account can order trial subscriptions regardless of permission.

The current status of the account's permission to use the Postpay model is displayed in the list of accounts (Viewing the list of accounts) and on the account's page (see Viewing and updating account's details) when Allow an account to order a postpaid subscription= Manually is selected in the reseller settings. When the settings are changed, the current statuses of the existing accounts are retained, even if not displayed.

To manage the account's permission to use the Postpay model, an Allow an account has postpaid subscriptions manual operation (see Manual operations) is used as follows:

After approving or declining an Allow an account has postpaid subscriptions manual operation, it is not possible to change the status of account's permission to use the Postpay model. Please contact the support team for assistance.

  • To allow an account to order postpaid subscriptions, approve an Allow an account has postpaid subscriptions manual operation (see Managing manual operations).
  • To deny an account to order postpaid subscriptions, decline an Allow an account has postpaid subscriptions manual operation. In this case, in the Customer Control Panel, information about the prohibition is not displayed for an account. Instead, a message that the account is still under review is displayed.
  • When the Allow an account to order a postpaid subscription parameter is switched between manual and automatic approval, the existing subscriptions continue working as described in Postpaid orders and manual operations.
  • The account's permission to use the Postpay model is applied to both the Operator Control Panel and Customer Control Panel. Orders submitted by a customer and approved by a manager with an Allow an account has postpaid subscriptions manual operation before version 7.0 (see Release Notes) are displayed as created by that manager rather than by the customer. Orders submitted by one manager and approved by another before version 7.6 (see Release Notes) are displayed as created by the manager who approved a manual operation.
