Auto-renewing a subscription

For subscription to the endless period, auto-renewing is not available, and the Renewal settings group is not displayed.

Automatic renewing is used to extend a subscription for the same period with the current configuration, while it is not necessary to create and complete a renewal order manually.

In this article:

Activating and configuring the subscription auto-renewing

If auto-renewing is activated for a subscription:

  1. Before the specified number of days to the subscription expiration day, a renewal order is created automatically.

A new renewal order is not created if a renewal order in the Waiting for payment or Waiting for provisioning status already exists.

For subscriptions with the Monthly ProlongationMonthly Commitment, Monthly Calendar Commitment, Monthly Long-term, Monthly Pay in full (free start), and Monthly Pay in full billing types, renewal orders have their specifics (see Delayed renewing of a subscription).

For the other billing types, renewal orders are created with the following parameters: Delayed = No, Provisioning date = the renewal order creation date (see Viewing order details).

  2. For the Postpay model — the subscription is automatically renewed on the renewal order provisioning date.
  3. For the Prepay model — on the subscription expiration day, if the account balance has sufficient funds (taking into account the possibility to pay with a negative balance — see Creating an account class), the renewal order is paid automatically.

For a stopped subscription, a renewal order is not paid automatically so that a subscription is not renewed. However, if a renewal order has the Waiting for provisioning status, a stopped subscription is activated and renewed automatically (see Stopping a subscription).

Reseller can activate joining in a single payment all payments for prolong orders and renewal orders automatically created for an account by the billing process on the same night (see Managing financial settings).
